Vance Wilkinson, 67
CHAPMAN — Vance K. Wilkinson, 67, of rural Chapman passed away on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017, with his wife by his side.
He has chosen cremation and a family and friends committal service will be held in the Oakdale Cemetery at a later date.
At his request, no visitation will take place. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation. Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Condolences and sharing of memories may be made at www.livson.com.
Vance was born on Oct. 14, 1950, on a farm near Elgin to Irl and Irma Wilkinson.
He was the second youngest of five children. He was raised in Elgin and graduated in 1968 from Elgin High School. Shortly after his graduation, he married Lindy Heitmeyer, and to this union two children were born, Heather and Tyler.
Vance married Lorretta (Lorri) Wilkinson on Jan. 3, 1983, and they remained married until his passing.
Vance was a Christian man. He loved his Lord and especially his family and friends. He owned his own semi and was leased to Midwest PMS of Bradshaw and also Sunrise Express of Grand Island. He loved to travel and treasured the friends he met and worked with along the way. He enjoyed cars and always had a project in the garage.
Vance is survived by his wife, Loretta (Lorri) Wilkinson; his children, Heather (Brian) Suckstorf of Meadow Grove and Tyler (Barb) Wilkinson of Norfolk; five grandchildren, Nathan Suckstorf, Matthew Suckstorf, Aaron Suckstorf, Harley Quinn Wilkinson and Nathaniel Wilkinson; brothers, Dale Wilkinson, Ron Wilkinson and Lynn Wilkinson; and a sister, Rose Ann Cool.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Irl and Irma Wilkinson, and a grandson, Jason Wilkinson.
